Introduction to Neuro Endocrine Cancer

Neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) are derived from neuroendocrine cells, specialized cells distributed throughout the body notably in the gastrointestinal tract, pancreas and lungs.

Some of them can produce hormones and are therefore associated with varied symptoms depending on its location as well as hormonal activity.

Within recent years this has become a relatively rare form of cancer but due to improved detection methods its incidence has increased somewhat.
