Pancreatic Cancer

Introduction to Pancreatic Cancer

Pancreatic Carcinoma also known as pancreas adenocarcinoma is an aggressive malignant disorder involving the pancreas which is an organ located behind the stomach: often late-stage diagnosis makes pancreatic carcinoma prognosis highly unpredictable due to its aggressive nature.

It usually has two major forms: exocrine tumours developing from digestive enzyme-producing cells; and endocrine tumours originating from hormone secreting cells within pancreas.

Among these cases are a majority of pancreatic cancers arising mostly from exocrine tumors like adenocarcinomas which show no signs until they reach advanced stages.
