Acute Appednicitis

Introduction to Acute appendicitis

Acute appendicitis is commonly occurring serious medical condition characterized by inflammation of appendix which is a small pouch connected to the start of colon. Appendicitis’ real cause is often unclear although it is frequently associated with obstruction of the appendix typically by fecal matter foreign bodies or lymphoid tissue.

This blockage leads to bacterial overgrowth in addition to subsequent inflammation of the appendix.

Symptoms of acute appendicitis include sudden onset abdominal pain often starting around belly button then moving towards lower right side abdomen nausea vomiting loss appetite fever. Early diagnosis in conjunction with appropriate therapy are therefore vital all times because if left untreated this can lead to perforation causing peritonitis which is a life threatening infection inside abdomen cavity.
